Why I Had To Create This...
For years, I walked hospital hallways as both a Labor & Delivery Nurse and an IBCLC, caring for moms and babies in some of their most vulnerable moments. I was passionate about helping families get the strongest start possible with breastfeeding.
But over time, I realized something heartbreaking:
Even though I had the training, the experience, and the deep desire to help… my hands were often tied.
When I’d spot an issue that needed outside support—like a baby with a tongue tie, a latch that was causing pain, or milk supply red flags—I wasn’t allowed to make a direct referral to a specialist who could help. I was told:
“You can only refer to the pediatrician.”
Now, here’s the kicker:
Most pediatricians are incredible at caring for babies—but they aren’t trained breastfeeding experts.
In fact, pediatricians receive an average of just 3 hours of breastfeeding education in all of medical school. (Yes, really—3 hours.)
Compare that to me: I’ve spent over 20 years helping more than 4,000 moms and babies, with thousands of hours of training and real-world experience. I’ve studied the tiniest cues, supported families through the messiest moments, and learned what actually works—and what really doesn’t.
But because of hospital policy, I couldn’t always share everything I knew.
That’s why I created this free video.
So I can finally give you the tips, the insider strategies, and the honest guidance I wasn’t always allowed to share.
Your hospital IBCLC might be amazing. But she might also be limited by the same system I was. And when it comes to breastfeeding—those first few hours can make a world of difference.
You deserve to walk in with tools, knowledge, and a sense of calm that only comes from someone who’s been there.
Let me show you how to advocate for yourself with confidence…
Even if the hospital is busy.
Even if the support isn’t perfect.
Even if everything feels a little upside-down.
Because no matter how your birth goes, you can still have a beautiful, successful start to breastfeeding.
And I’m here to help you make that happen.
