Nichole McCloy, RN, IBCLC, holding a newborn
Hi, I'm Nichole.Labor nurse, IBCLC, and mama of 3. Pull up a spot on the couch.

Five minutes, from my couch to yours

Come sit with me for a minute.

Sound like you?

Lovingly calling you out, mama.

“If your whole birth plan is ‘I'll just go with the flow’…”

The flow has a lot of decisions in it. Let's know them ahead.

“If you've watched 400 birth videos and STILL don't know when to leave for the hospital…”

There's a real answer. It's not “when it feels bad.”

“If you figure breastfeeding just… happens once baby's here…”

Night two is coming. I'd love for you to see it coming.

“If you think the nurses will just tell you what to do…”

We will! Fast, between six other patients, at 3 a.m.

“If your partner's plan is ‘carry the bags and hold your hand’…”

Sweet. And they can do SO much more. There's a class for that.

“If you're already Googling ‘is this normal’ at 2 a.m.…”

Close the tabs. I'll tell you what normal actually looks like.
Mama, we need to talk.

The free hospital class tells you where to park. I've spent my whole career on the other side of that triage desk, and I want you walking in calm, prepared, and asking the questions that make your nurse go “oh, she's READY.”

From bump to baby

I'll walk you through every single stage.

Not just labor day. All the moments that sneak up on first-time moms, in the order you'll actually live them.

Walk in prepared

Calm in triage. Confident in that bed.

I've been the nurse in the room for more births than I can count. The mamas who knew what was coming? They weren't scared of every beep and every new face. They asked good questions. They knew their options. They felt like part of the team.

  • Know when it's really time to go, and what to expect when you get there
  • Understand every pain relief option before you're mid-contraction
  • Walk in with birth wishes your nurses can actually use
  • Know your options if plans change, including a C-section

Feeding, from a real IBCLC

Ready for the first latch and night two.

Breastfeeding is SUPER hard for a lot of mamas, and most of the hard part happens after the lactation consultant has gone home for the day. I'll show you what a good latch looks and feels like, what's normal in those first days, and the signs that mean it's time to get help.

  • How to know baby is getting enough (without guessing)
  • What to expect when your milk comes in
  • Pumping, bottles and combo feeding, no judgment
  • The red flags to catch early, before things hurt

Breastfeeding, pumping, formula or all three: your goals lead. Always.

Meet your teacher

Hi, I'm Nichole.

Labor & delivery nurseIBCLCRN since 2004Mama of 3

I spent 16 years as a labor and delivery nurse before I opened Fort Worth Lactation, where my team of IBCLCs now helps families all over DFW. I've been the nurse in the room, I've been the hospital IBCLC, and I've been the exhausted mama with a baby who just wouldn't latch.

All three of my babies had feeding struggles that nobody caught. I didn't know then what I know now, and that's exactly why I teach. I want you to know it BEFORE you need it.

The Motherhood Collection is me, on your couch, telling you everything I'd tell my own sister. Honest, never scary, and never judgy about how you feed your baby.

I can't wait to help you get ready.

From mamas who've been there

They walked in ready. So can you.

Katie and baby Jackson

“Going through labor & delivery has always been a huge fear of mine. Little did I know it would be the most beautiful & incredible moment of my life! I felt so prepared.”

Katie & baby Jackson
Crystal and her family

“When I delivered I had a labor nurse ask me if I was in nursing school or had gone to school for nursing because of the quality of questions I was prepared to ask.”

Crystal, past student
Laura and baby Charlotte

“A larger than life THANK YOU to Nichole and this network of INCREDIBLE women… who made my journey less lonely, less scary, and less uninformed.”

Questions

Good questions.

When should I start?

Honestly? Now. Second trimester is perfect, and the third works great too. Start with So, You're Pregnant and Learn To Labor, then save the newborn and feeding classes for the last few weeks so they're fresh.

Is it only for first-time moms?

It's written with first-time moms in mind, but so many second and third time mamas tell me it was the refresher they didn't know they needed.

I'm not in Texas. Will it still work for me?

Yes. It's all online, and it works wherever you're having your baby.

What if I'm planning a home birth?

You're welcome here, but I built this one around hospital births, because that's where I spent my career and where most of my mamas deliver.

What if I plan to formula feed or pump?

You're still so welcome. Feeding your baby is the goal, and there's no shame in how you get there.

Can my partner watch too?

Please! There's a whole class just for them, and the labor classes are even better watched together.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

You're welcome to submit your receipt to your HSA or FSA plan, but I can't promise it will be covered. Every plan is different, so check with yours.

Can I get a refund?

Because you get instant access to every class and download the moment you join, all sales are final. Have a question first? Email [email protected] and my team will help.

Is this medical advice?

No. It's education to help you feel prepared. Always follow your own provider's guidance, and call them anytime something feels off.

Let's get you ready, mama.

Labor, birth, feeding, your recovery and your baby, from a nurse who's been there for all of it. You've got this, and I've got you.
